We would like to invite you to nominate candidates who you consider to be the most deserving recipient ofthis award. Please describe how you or your nominee has excelled in areas such as improving efficiencies, safety, driver wellbeing, environmental footprint and in introducing innovations to boost the performance of the business.
Green Fleet of the Year
Environmental concerns have raced to the top of the agenda for LCV operators and to reflect this we would once more like you to nominate your outstanding contenders for the Green Fleet of the Year. Fleets are also more than welcome to submit entries on behalf of themselves. Outline how the fleet has improved its environmental performance through decisions covering vehicle choice, fuel choice, route planning, telematics and driver training.
Aftermarket Accessories Award
One of the most vital considerations for operators having made an initial purchasing decision is how to enhance or maintain their light commercial vehicles once they have left the showroom.
This category is open to companies who supply the most practical or attractive products, services or accessories that business owners can add post acquisition. Nominations could cover security systems or visual styling enhancements, for example.
Please describe your product or accessory and the benefits to an LCV owner / driver in up to 750 words and include additional testimonials or information demonstrating the benefit of your product if necessary.
Converter of the Year
Previously reader-voted, this award recognises the increasingly vital service contributed to LCV operators by conversion specialists, whether this be in supplying blue light conversions, large bodies, such as tippers, dropsides or Lutons, bespoke orders made to measure for individual requirements or innovative storage systems for load bays.
The innovation award is for businesses who can clearly demonstrate their product, service or initiative has improved the efficiency and performance of its operation or the wellbeing of its users. This could be through cost savings, increasing profits or enhancing safety standards in its sector. The criteria is wide but the winner will be the shortlisted nomination the judges decide has given the most significant boost to its business, either as a new addition or in comparison with the function, product or service it has replaced.
Insurer of the Year
Judges will be looking for insurance companies and brokers that deliver specific policies for LCV operators, and demonstrate an understanding of the characteristics of van-using businesses such as frequent stop deliveries, punishing wear and tear, higher mileages and carrying high-value goods in a van. A recognition of the benefits of telematics/dashcams and security measures as well as flexibility to different business needs and provision of like-for-like replacement vans will also be rewarded.
Leasing Company of the Year
What sets your company apart from the rest? In this category the judges will be looking for a company that delivered exceptional service, customer retention and introduced services/applications/processes that helped make life easier for operators and assisted them in running a cost-effective and efficient light commercial vehicle fleet in 2020.
Rental Company of the Year
Each submission for this increasingly significant category should include the entrant’s key successes in 2020, retention and growth figures, and case studies from customers as well as key initiatives that have been introduced and details of how they benefit businesses using LCVs. Judges will be particularly looking for customer service initiatives and new technology that make life easier for light commercial vehicle operators.
Remarketing Company of the Year
The second hand market is crucial for fleets, small businesses and owner/drivers whether in facilitating the most efficient and cost-effective disposal of used stock or in providing the most convenient, speedy and best value for money route for acquiring used LCVs. Judges will reward entrants that provide the best support to operators and demonstrate an innovative approach and broad range of services.
Risk Management Award
In this category the judges will be looking for companies or organisations that have driven up safety procedures and gone the extra mile to ensure their light commercial vehicles are always operating on the right side of the law. The product / service nominated must demonstrate it has excelled in protecting its assets and, most importantly, its workforce by raising best-practice standards beyond the bare minimum of checking employees’ driving licences and ensuring vehicles are taxed and have a valid MOT certificate.
Van Dealer of the Year
This category will reward the business that can demonstrate it delivers the most comprehensive service tailored to the requirements of LCV customers. This could include offering a wide range of vehicles, including approved conversions, competitive finance deals, outstanding aftersales support or in always making available an LCV specialist on site.
NEW Customer Service Award
This new award for 2021 will recognise a manufacturer, or a product or service supplier within the light commercial vehicle sector that goes the extra mile to make business operations easier, more productive or more profitable for its customers. This could be through the provision of a customer care package or a product innovation that demonstrably improves business or wellbeing by the retention or increase of the customer base, for example.
NEW Technology Award
This wide-ranging new category will recognise a new product, app or software that demonstrates ease of use and improves processes and operations for customers that adopt it.
There is no requirement to submit an entry for this category, all manufacturers’ vehicles will be judged by an independent panel of carefully selected judges from a number of recognised bodies.
